Clubs

Clubs help you organize players by group and enable powerful broadcasting features. This guide covers creating clubs, managing club members, and using clubs for events.

Overview

Clubs in PlayerPing allow you to:

Organize Players - Group players by club affiliation
Event Association - Link events to clubs
Broadcasting - Send invitations to all club members at once
Filtering - Filter players and events by club

Creating Clubs

When Adding a Player

Fill Player Form
Add player information as usual
Select sport for the player

Create New Club
Click "+ New Club" button
Fill in club details:
Club Name (required) - Name of the club
Location (optional) - Club location
Country (optional) - Select country from dropdown
Click "Create Club"

Auto-Assignment
Newly created club is automatically selected
Player is assigned to the club
Club is sport-specific

When Creating an Event

Fill Event Form
Complete event details
Select sport for the event

Create Home Club
Click "+ New Club" in the club field
Enter club name (required)
Add location and country (optional)
Click "Create Club"

Club Association
New club is automatically selected as home club
Event is linked to the club

Club Requirements

Name - Required, must be unique per sport
Sport - Automatically set based on context (player or event)
Location - Optional, helps identify clubs
Country - Optional, useful for international organizations

Managing Clubs

Viewing Clubs

Clubs are displayed when:

Adding Players - Club dropdown shows clubs for selected sport
Creating Events - Club search shows matching clubs
Player Profiles - Shows club name on player list

Club Search

When selecting a club:

Type to Search - Start typing club name
Filtered Results - Shows matching clubs
Create New - Option to create if not found

Club Information

Each club shows:

Name - Club name
Location - City or area (if set)
Country - Country name (if set)
Sport - Sport the club is associated with

Assigning Players to Clubs

During Player Creation

Select Sport
Choose sport from dropdown
Clubs for that sport appear

Select Club
Choose from dropdown or search
Or create new club

Save Player
Player is assigned to selected club

Editing Player Club

Edit Player
Click edit icon on player
Club field shows current assignment

Change Club
Select different club from dropdown
Or create new club
Or select "None / No Club"

Update Player
Click "Update Player"
Club assignment is saved

Bulk Assignment

When importing players:

Set Default Club before importing
All imported players get assigned to that club
Can be changed individually after import

Assigning Home Club to Event

Create/Edit Event
Fill in event details
Select sport

Select Home Club
Search for club or create new
Club must match event's sport

Save Event
Event is linked to club
Enables broadcasting feature

Benefits of Club Association

Broadcasting - Send invitations to all club members
Organization - Group events by club
Filtering - Find events by club
Context - Shows club affiliation on event

Broadcasting to Clubs

When to Broadcast

Broadcasting is ideal when:

Event needs many players
Event is club-related
You want to reach all members
Roster needs filling quickly

How to Broadcast

Event Must Have Club
Ensure event has home club assigned
Club must match event's sport

Open Event Details
Navigate to event page
Click "Broadcast to Club" button

Select Audience
All Players - All club members
Men Only - Male club members
Women Only - Female club members

Send Broadcast
Review preview
Click "Send Broadcast"

Broadcast Behavior

Broadcasting sends invitations to:

All players in the club
Who play the event's sport
Who match gender filter (if selected)
Who haven't already responded

Note: Broadcasts use email and WhatsApp only (SMS disabled to reduce costs).

Club Organization Tips

Naming Conventions

Be Specific - Use clear, descriptive names
Include Location - Helps distinguish similar clubs
Be Consistent - Use same format for all clubs

Sport-Specific Clubs

Each club is associated with one sport
Players can belong to different clubs for different sports
Events link to clubs matching their sport

Multiple Clubs

Players can belong to different clubs per sport
Events can have different home clubs
Organize by sport and location

Best Practices

Club Creation

Create Early - Set up clubs when adding first players
Use Location - Add location to help identify clubs
Be Consistent - Use consistent naming
Organize by Sport - Create separate clubs per sport if needed

Player Assignment

Assign During Creation - Set club when adding players
Use Bulk Import - Set default club for imports
Keep Updated - Update club assignments as needed
Review Regularly - Ensure players are in correct clubs

Event Organization

Link to Clubs - Assign home club to events
Use Broadcasting - Leverage club broadcasting
Filter by Club - Use clubs to organize events
Maintain Consistency - Use same clubs across events

Troubleshooting

Club Not Appearing

Verify club is for the correct sport
Check that club was created successfully
Refresh the page
Try searching for club name

Can't Create Club

Ensure club name is provided
Check that sport is selected
Verify you're in the correct context
Try again with different name

Broadcasting Not Available

Event must have home club assigned
Club must match event's sport
Event status must be OPEN
Verify club has members

Players Not Receiving Broadcast

Check that players are in the club
Verify players play the event's sport
Ensure players match gender filter
Check notification settings
